BlackBerry 8230 Pearl Flip
A lot of things have been said about this particular phone. Most BlackBerry users find the whole flipping thing a bit odd since most BlackBerry users are not accustomed to it. On the flip side (pardon the pun), it might attract people who love flip phones who never had the opportunity of using BlackBerry’s.
As far as the price is concerned, it is quite cheap notwithstanding the type of experience you will get from using a BlackBerry. This Pearl flip is by far the most biggest and adventurous risk taken by BlackBerry. The way the camera, speakers, volume and even the led indicator are situated makes this phone very different from other BlackBerry phones. This flip phone seems much bigger than what most flip user might be used to.
If you are a diehard flip fan, you would already know how a quality flip phone is supposed to feel when you flip it open. Well, the BlackBerry pearl flip has got the same feel but you sometimes require two hands to flip the pearl open instead of one which I think is due to the way the phone is designed.
One of the biggest changes in this phone is the keypad. This keypad is quite unusual from the regular BlackBerry device. If you are normally used to using the regular BlackBerry keypad, this might take some getting you to but overall, its a pretty neat keypad that should not be under rated.
It has a display screen of 240 x 320 which is quite small compared to other BlackBerry devices. Despite the size, it is still much wider than most other phones. This would have been perfect if you could watch movies in landscape but it does not seem to offer the option. It would have been nice if they had this function on this phone. It also comes with video recording which is relatively not that bad.
The BlackBerry 8230 pearl flip has two speakers at the bottom which is quite good. To my surprise, this speaker is quite better than most BlackBerry smartphones. You can easily navigate through the music on your phone quite easily and it will also allow you to shuffle your way through your tracks.
The camera on this phone was a bit disappointing. It has a 2 megapixel camera, but truth be told, this is not Blackberry's forte. Taking pictures with this phone makes the pictures come out white washed with mediocre quality.
