Cut the Rope, a Ticklish Treat for Casual Gamers

Cut the Rope is a new puzzle game from renowned app developer Chillingo. Cut the Rope features a fun package for the casual player, with its cutesy graphics paired to a clever game mechanics and challenging play. To beat it, users must employ a variety of tactics based on physics, logic and the usual quick reflexes, making Cut the Rope a very entertaining diversion for iOS gadget users. 75 levels of play give the game a satisfying replay factor guarantee hours of idle pleasure.

The concept of Cut the Rope is somewhat evocative of Gremlins, beginning with a strange carton box which arrives at the player’s doorstep together with a written note asking him or her to feed the small creature within. As it happens, candy is the critter’s favorite, and it is the player’s objective to get those sweets to feed the creature. These are found hanging down from ropes which must be maneuvered to within reach for the player to grab, a task that is easier said than done. Fortunately, a variety of tools are available to help out. It is possible to cut the ropes, use bubbles, blowers and others to get the candy while staying clear of traps containing spiders or electric currents. Care must be taken to deliver the sweets to Om Nom, the critter, as fast as possible to keep him from being sad.

Like mentioned before, the heart-tickling animation and richly-colored visuals are the main draw of the game. These, partnered with the skipping beat of the background sound makes for a great game to while away the time. An additional challenge comes in the form of three stars that needs to be collected in each level before the player can progress to the next. The gameplay is non-linear in that previous levels can be replayed. The levels are in the form of different-styled, colorful boxes that present varying degrees of challenge.

As with other Chillingo apps, this one has its own free version. The full version, though, is a steal at 99 cents, having the makings of a quality and entertaining pastime that players of all ages will enjoy.

Garmin GPS - nuvi 3700

Garmin - nuvi 3700

Garmin has established itself firmly in the world of portable GPS systems. Today most of the new cars released have employed Garmin for their navigation support. The company has GPS solutions right across the entire industry for Road, Water, and Air.

Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite based navigation system comprising of 24 satellites around our earth’s orbit commenced by the USA's Department of Defense (DOD). This service was initially employed strictly for Military purpose but from 1980, this has been broadened to civilian use too. The system works efficiently in any climatic conditions, time of day an any location with an unobstructed view of the sky. There are no subscription fees or any kind of set-up charges to use GPS.

The GPS satellites, orbit around the earth in a precise path and transmit their signal to earth. The GPS receivers use these emitted signals from the satellites and using a triangulation method calculate the GPS receiver’s exact position. The GPS receiver compares the time difference between the signals transmitted by the satellite and received by itself and draws a conclusion as to how far away is the satellite from the receiver and vice-versa.
With this technology the receiver can track itself with the help of other satellites too which are in orbital proximity with it to determine its actual position and get it displayed on the electronic map inbuilt in to the system. A GPS receiver must be locked in with three satellites at least to give the right 2D positioning, latitude, longitude, and tracking movement. With four or more satellite locked a 3D aspect can be granted to understand the position of a receiver on latitude, longitude, and altitude. Once the exact GPS location is known other aspects of physics can be easily calculated like trip distance, distance to destination and more.

The latest Garmin nuvi 3700 series has been my personal favorite for various technological and aesthetic aspects. These personal navigation system are slim, sturdy, multi-touch glass display along with various in-house application like nuRoute, trafficTrends and myTrends technology, voice enabled navigation, 3D building and terrain view, lane assistance with junction view, hands-free calling compatibility and subscription-free traffic alerts. Yes, the product is Bluetooth enabled.

The sleek design of nuvi is less than 9mm thick having a full glass 4.3” diagonal multi-touch display. The Dual orientation feature allows for nuvi 3790T to be used either horizontally or vertically, fitting smartly in hand and its sleek design makes it quite comfortable and possible to slip into your pocket or purse. With a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the device is at your service on road or foot.

The featured like nuRoute, trafficTrends and myTrends are of great help and use in ease of navigation and provide an alternative, quick and easier route if available for your disposal. This service is not subscription based, no cost; all you need is your nuvi 3790T at your perusal. The trafficTrends functionality helps your device to automatically learn the daytime trends of traffic flow to improve the routes and better predict the estimated time of arrival based on time or day of the week. The myTrends functionality helps and works in-line with the routes you have saved on your Favorite list, it will in due time understand your current route, map it with the favorite route and intuitively direct you to destination during your drive.

AT&T gets three new Win Phone 7 devices

HTC 7 Surround  ---  LG Quantum  ---  Samsung Focus
Three AT&T Phones Revealed for the US Market by Microsoft

In a very recent official announcement by Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of Microsoft, unveiled new OS called Windows Phone 7. Microsoft has planned a release of ten new phones for 30 different countries. Out of these ten new phones, the three phones will be for AT&T to be sold in United States market. Experts believe that this announcement from Microsoft, which is the world’s largest operating system (OS) and application software manufacture, comes as the company’s response to the new iOS released by Apple and the release of Android from Google, world’s largest search engine company. It is believed in the circles that the US based software giant is likely to regain its market share in the highly competitive Smartphone market by release of Windows Phone 7 and the company is quite optimistic about the same.

Of the three AT&T phones mentioned above the first in the list is the Samsung Focus i917. This is believed to be the slimmest of the phones. The Samsung Focus is as slim as 9.9 millimeters. The phone boasts a 4-inch display, which uses AMOLED technology. AMOLED is a display technology, which is abbreviated for Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode. The phone, which is powered by a 1GHz processor, also supports a 5 Megapixel camera along with 8GB of internal storage memory.

The LG Quantum is the second phone with QWERTY keyboard to type in the text. The LG Quantum appears to have been contrived primarily for business professionals. The phone boasts a Dolby mobile with features that support wireless streaming of the audio, and video. The phone also supports modern technologies such as DLNA enabled TV.

The aforementioned three AT&T, lastly includes, the HTC 7 Surround phone. The HTC phone features as 3.8 inches touch screen display. The 7 Surround supports up to 16GB of internal storage memory. It translates into an ability to install several applications that you have not been able to use in your Smartphone earlier.  A 1GHz Snapdragon processor powers the 7 Surround. The first Smartphone with classy slim looks features surround sound speakers from Dolby Mobile. The HTC Surround, which is a slide phone also supports and is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera.

The software giant, Microsoft, had also unveiled above three phones along with other phones that will run Windows Phone 7 operating system. The new product from Microsoft, even though being strongly promoted as a never seen before product, however, it remains a fact that the software giant cannot rule out the challenges associated with marketing new platform that still needs to be tested by the users. This is because not many users truly intend to gamble by investing in new platforms and generally shop for gadgets that have been tested by other and carry positive review and feedback.
Even though Microsoft is quite excited, its worth noting that the software company’s Kin line of Smartphone has already seen an utter failure in the market.

Nokia Finally Launches N8

After months of suspense and sneak previews, Nokia has finally launched its flagship smartphone, N8, after almost four months of delay from its launch date. Experts put N8 as Nokia’s challenge against the iphone by Apple Inc. The popularity of this latest smartphone can be seen by the fact that it has received the highest numbers of pre-orders in the history of Nokia.

What makes Nokia N8 stand out above all its competitive phones is its 12 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. With 256 as internal memory and a screen resolution as big as 640x360 pixels, this smartphone is sure to stay in the market for long. Apart, it has an expandable memory of a whooping 48GB which is good enough to store as much as 400+ movies. To add to this, it comes with three separate home screens and the user can toggle between them by swiping the screen to the left or right. Different shortcuts can be put on every home screen as per the user’s convenience.  And if you do not like crowded home screen, you get the option of keeping the home screen blank with just the image in the background.

Nokia has also made surfing through social networking sites, Twitter and Facebook, much easier with the widget available supporting both the apps. Moreover, with the BBC iplayer app, one gets to watch live TV programmes on the go via Nokia web browser. Another fantastic addition to this latest Nokia smartphone is the notification widget that lets you scroll through recent calls, messages and other updates. The new spice here is that the user gets to read the messages without actually opening them up, all with this fantastic widget.

The phone is totally user friendly as it allows the user to customize the phone to a great extent as per his needs. Available in half a dozen color options, Nokia has made some more specific changes to this wonderful smartphone for a better experience to the user. The web browser of this phone supports video streaming that allows the user to watch videos on youtube and many more sites, unlike previous Nokia handsets that were not blessed with this feature. Beside this, the zoom in and out feature is now much easier as the user can zoom in to the camera by just putting the finger and the thumb together and zoom out by moving them apart. Features like Wi-Fi and GPS in the phone are always of great help for the user.

It is not the features that set this phone apart but the speed at which it operates. Nokia N8 uses Symbian ^3 operating system that allows the user to have the best experience while operating the phone. Further, there is no need to double tap a particular icon to open it, like the previous touch series phones of Nokia, as the icons open with a single tap. To be specific, all these are enough to describe the highly profiled Nokia N8.

Palm Pre Plus

Are you trying to make up your mind whether or not to get a Palm Pre Plus. Well at up to $560, it's a lot of money when your not exactly sure if it's the smartphone you really want. Though there are a lot of other competitive smartphones, the Palm Pre Plus can still hold its own.

Taking a close-up look at the Palm pre Plus, not only will you notice its uniqueness but also the smooth and sleek design. Bundled with a lot of options, large touch screen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard, it still is a viable option when compared to others.

This phone can be used in pretty much any situation or environment. It can be used for personal use and also for work. With a 3.1-inch, vibrant 24-bit color, 320x480 resolution HVGA multitouch display, you can browse the Internet effectively and watch HQ videos.
I has a 3-megapixel camera with LED flash, has geotagging and video capture. It also comes with accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity sensors.

If you need to type, the QWERTY keyboard is a little bigger on this phone and will definitely help you from having too many typos. It can be quite frustrating when you have to type the same key more than once. Your contact list and favorite apps are easily updated without much help from your own part. This phone could turn out to be addictive.

If you are one of those people who like to multi-task, then you should probably have this phone. This is more or less a mini-computer. You can check email's, support for Microsoft Exchange with Microsoft Direct Push Technology, POP3/IMAP (Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, etc.), schedule things, prioritize your list all at the same time. Most things you would normally do on your home computer, can definitely be done on this phone.
You will also get real time notification, so that you are not lagging behind on anything. One of the things I love about this smartphone is that you can have all your social network sites, email’s, task, appointment all synchronized and presented to you under a single page.

If you are crazy about apps, you will have access to thousands of them. Apps from social networking sites, news, games, stocks, weather and so much more are available on the Palm Pre Plus.

Nokia N8 - Phone Review

For a while now, there has been a lot of speculation about Nokia's dwindling reputation as a forerunner in the smartphone industry. This is because a lot of people are beginning to choose other brands over Nokia products.

To curb this growing speculation, Nokia had to go back to the drawing board and that it how the much awaited Nokia N8 was born. This phone was to address the issue that Nokia still had a part to play as one of the best manufacturers of smartphones. This smartphone is supposed to be the smartest of all smartphones coupled with a new OS and packed with a lot of interesting tech features.

Hardware: its hardware is one of a kind. Packed with a rugged look and made from aluminium construction, there is no way you will miss this phone on sight. Though it has a big bump at the back, this is because of the camera with a Xenon flash.

Internals: This Nokia N8 comes with a 680MHZ processor and a 256MB memory. I know a lot of people will have issues with the memory. it also comes with 16Gb of built-in storage and has a microSD slot which will total up to 32GB more. It also has a USB, 1200mAH battey with 802.11n wifi.

Display: The cool thing about this phone that nobody seems to mention is that it is bulletproof scratch-resistant. You can scratch and poke all you want and you still wouldn’t get any scratch or dent on it. It has a 3.5 inch display with a 640 x 360 resolution.

Camera: Nokia N8 comes with a whopping 12 mega-pixel. I would even buy the phone just because of the pixels. This is really a big step forward for Nokia while its competitors will be dragging behind to catch up.

Speaker: I also have to give this to Nokia. They are again at the forefront of innovation. The speaker is so loud that you can actually mistake it for a boom box.  For such a small size speaker, it definitely delivers.

Browser: I have mixed feeling about the Nokia browser. Nokia was really one of the initial companies that started using WebKit for phones. Nokia should have done much better here because their browser does not differ too much from other mobile browsers. You will only get better performance and quality by browsing mobile optimized sites.

Best HTC Droid Incredible cases

Are you currently looking for a case for your HTC Droid Incredible. Buying a case for your smartphone is a great way to prevent it from getting unwanted scratches and bumps. Using a case for your smartphone will keep it looking new and if you decide to sell, it will still retain its value. Nobody wants to buy a scratched up piece of device.

One of the factors to consider when choosing a case is to make sure that the case gives you access to all ports and controls. If you decide to buy a cheap case, it might cost you more in the long run and overtime, that cheap case will definitely wear out. Knowing the type of case you want for your HTC Droid Incredible is also important.

There are various ways to shop for a case for your smartphone. You can either go to phone stores or choose to do your shopping entirely online. I actually prefer to shop online because it gives you more variety, more than a traditional brick store. You can sit in the comfort of your home, order it and it will be delivered right to your door step.

Below are some of the Best HTC Droid Incredible Cases.

Seidio Innocase II Surface Case: This case is lightweight and does a good job protecting your case from scratches. You will have full access to all controls and ports without have to remove your smartphone from the case. This cases comes in different colors which gives you a lot of variety to pick from.

Colored Skins: For a price starting at just $16, you will get about 9 silicone cases with different colors to match your every mood. It fits easy on your phone and gives you access to all your controls.

HTC Droid Incredible Shell Holster Combo: This case is actually produced by Verizon and it comes with a holster. It’s well designed so that you can access every part of your smartphone and a holster for those who prefer it. The price of the case is very cheap notwithstanding that you are getting 2 in 1.

Premium Tough Case: I must confess to you that this case is not pretty at all but if you are looking for a case that will give your smartphone maximum protection, this case is definitely for you.

BlackBerry Tour 9630 Accessories

Are you looking for accessories for your BlackBerry Tour 9630. There are many accessories for BlackBerrys in the market today and it can be quite difficult trying to figure out which of these accessories is a perfect fit for your phone. Since most of these accessories are created by third party manufactures and not BlackBerry, you will find lots of low grade accessories.

Below I have listed some high quality BlackBerry Tour 9630 accessories which you can buy for your phone.

Handsfree-Dragon Bluetooth Headset: This headset is one of a kind with a superb range and functionality. With a range of 328+ feet, you can roam around your home or office without carrying your phone with you. It is a dual micro-phone noise suppression headset. You can literally be in an airport and you will be able to hear the call quality both crisp and clear without any background noise. The list price of this headset is $119.00 But that seems to have changed dramatically. After an early manufacturing run, quite a few defective units were shipped out (then replaced), so the unit got a bit of a bad rep from negative reviews. You can currently pick one up at Amazon for under $20

Universal Rok Kit: This compact high quality universal rob kit is one that is sturdy with good suction that is virtually vibration free. Universal Rok Mobile Mount Kit

Mobi Product Cradle w/Spare Battery Slot: This cradle slot comes with a battery and easily charges your phone and a spare battery at the same time. Though this product is more expensive than its competitors, you can be rest assured that your battery and your phone will not end up been destroyed.

Smartphone Expert Screen Protector: This screen protector protects your phone from scratches caused from falling on hard surfaces . The screen protector also reduces the distractive glare which is caused by reflected light which enhances the quality of your screen. The texture of the screen is quite different from other screen protector with a smooth and sleek feel.

Freedom Pro Bluetooth Keyboard: You have probably heard of keyboards for phones. This Keyboard is Bluetooth enabled and it's actually the latest dual profile, portable keyboard in the market today. It has more functions and keys more than it's previous version. It will definitely give you more control of your mobile device. Freedom Pro Bluetooth Keyboard

Wilson Electronic SIGNAL BOOST: Does your smartphone have low reception. With the Wilson Electronic SIGNAL BOOST, you are able to enhance the receptivity of your BlackBerry smartphone. You do not have to plug in this device to your smartphone. All you have to do is leave it in an area where your smartphone has poor reception, and boosts the signal for multiple users

BlackBerry 8230 Pearl Flip

A lot of things have been said about this particular phone. Most BlackBerry users find the whole flipping thing a bit odd since most BlackBerry users are not accustomed to it. On the flip side (pardon the pun), it might attract people who love flip phones who never had the opportunity of using BlackBerry’s.

As far as the price is concerned, it is quite cheap notwithstanding the type of experience you will get from using a BlackBerry. This Pearl flip is by far the most biggest and adventurous risk taken by BlackBerry. The way the camera, speakers, volume and even the led indicator are situated makes this phone very different from other BlackBerry phones. This flip phone seems much bigger than what most flip user might be used to.

If you are a diehard flip fan, you would already know how a quality flip phone is supposed to feel when you flip it open. Well, the BlackBerry pearl flip has got the same feel but you sometimes require two hands to flip the pearl open instead of one which I think is due to the way the phone is designed.

One of the biggest changes in this phone is the keypad. This keypad is quite unusual from the regular BlackBerry device. If you are normally used to using the regular BlackBerry keypad, this might take some getting you to but overall, its a pretty neat keypad that should not be under rated.

It has a display screen of 240 x 320 which is quite small compared to other BlackBerry devices. Despite the size, it is still much wider than most other phones. This would have been perfect if you could watch movies in landscape but it does not seem to offer the option. It would have been nice if they had this function on this phone. It also comes with video recording which is relatively not that bad.

The BlackBerry 8230 pearl flip has two speakers at the bottom which is quite good. To my surprise, this speaker is quite better than most BlackBerry smartphones. You can easily navigate through the music on your phone quite easily and it will also allow you to shuffle your way through your tracks.

The camera on this phone was a bit disappointing. It has a 2 megapixel camera, but truth be told, this is not Blackberry's forte. Taking pictures with this phone makes the pictures come out white washed with mediocre quality.

Blackberry Storm2 9550

Good reasons to get a Blackberry Storm2 9550

Are you thinking of buying the Blackberry Storm2 9550 and you are probably wondering why you should get one. There are many phones in the market today and it can be very difficult trying to pick a particular one to buy. Other factors that might deter you from buying this phone could be the price. At a whopping minimum price of $425.00, not everyone will be able to cough out money to buy this phone. Compared to most of its counterparts, the Blackberry Storm2 9550 is by far better.

If you are still thinking of why you should get a Blackberry Storm2 9550, here are a few good reasons to consider about this phone.

We are going to talk about its High resolution and and touchscreen. We are also going to talk about its Qwerty keyboard. Finally , we are going to talk about the life of the battery. After reading this article, you will have good reasons why you should get a Blackberry Storm2 9550.

High Resolution Screen: If you love to watch videos on your phone, you will definitely be pleased with the high resolution screen of the this phone. It comes with a 480 x 360 Display 3.25". It can support over 65,000 colors. The quality of the image is very bright and sharp.

High Resolution Touchscreen: Compared to other phones with touchscreen, you won't get the same quality and ease of use as you will with this phone. One of the good things about using the touchscreen on this phone is that you can simply tap on various element on the homescreen without having to waste unnecessary space on application icons.

Qwerty Keyboard: Those who love using Qwerty Keyboards will definitely love this one. Most people often complain that the Qwerty keyboard is usually small resulting in too many errors when typing. The Keyboard on this phone is much bigger and also in a landscape position which is much easier when typing. The pop up key on the display will also display a pop up window on your screen that will show you which key is been pressed.

Battery: Another factor to consider is the battery life. Most phones normally don't stay up for long before their battery dies. This is normally due to applications running all at the same time. With the Blackberry Storm2 9500, you are guaranteed a minimum talk time of almost 6 hours and a standby time of 11 days.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 - A Review

I had always wondered what all the fuss was about with Blackberry smartphones. Never in a million years would I have considered using it.
Well, since everybody kept talking about it, I decided to give it a chance. I went ahead and bought my first Blackberry and now I am definitely hooked.
My first Blackberry phone is the Torch 9800. I think I tested all the new Blackberry smartphones before I considered going with the 9800. Well, I can tell you that ever since I started using this phone, I have become and avid Blackberry user.

If you are thinking of buying your own Blackberry Torch 9800, here are some few things you need to know before purchasing it.

Out of the other phones I noticed one of the significant things which the BlackBerry Torch 9800 had over the other phones was that its touch screen device was much better than its predecessors. One of the main complaints by Blackberry users is that its touchscreen device was not that good. I guess the Blackberry manufacturer is actually listening to their smartphone users.

The Torch 9800 is very sleek, neat, thin and very pocket-able. It is quite unbelievable to see such a phone so small and yet packed with so many functions.
It comes with a 3.2 inch touchscreen and it has a nice Qwerty keyboard which smoothly slides from behind the display. The total weight of this phone is 161g which is really lightweight compared to its counterpart.

Since I travel a lot, I like a phone that I can use wherever I am internationally instead of being confined to a certain frequency. This phone is a quad-band GSM/EDGE which basically means that you can literally use it wherever you are on the planet. As far as Internet is concerned, it has a 802.11 b/g/n wifi, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA 3G band coverage.

If you like taking pictures, it comes with 5 mega pixels with auto focus and flash on the camera. It also comes with a 4 GB memory card, Geo-tagging, Blackberry map. With Geo-tagging, you are able to tag photos of areas that are close by.

The Torch 9800 comes with BlackBerry 6 operation system. It has a very fast browser which I must say is really fast compared to other mobile browsers I've used.
There are numerous things you can do with this Blackberry, so I won't bother listing them all here, but will highlight what I consider to be the best features of this phone in a separate post.
This is definitely a smartphone worth considering.
